Want to gain experience in the social good/education profession? Want verified volunteer hours? Want virtual opportunities to grow and gain experience you can use for college admissions and future employment? Look no further than Canary Academy Online Inc.’s first cohort of 2023 Young Educator Fellows!

Easy as 1, 2, 3

Our fellowship program only has five spots available, and only two of those five spots come with stipends for up to $150 per month for up to 6 months!

Apply online in under 10 minutes in our simple online application. Answer a few questions about yourself and why you want to be a fellow, and you’ll be on your way. This program is highly selective, so take time to write your responses.

There are two interviews an applicant would have in this stage. Phase 1 interviews will be asynchronous and automated, reviewed once submitted by our team. If we like what you submit, you will be invited to be interviewed live by one of our staff members.

Applications Open March 15th!

Onboard and Teach!

Next, you go through a three-week certification program, filled with industry-leading training from top-notch educators, and mentoring on how to build digital lessons, write lesson plans, and manage a virtual classroom. After that, the sky is the limit! You’ve made it into the program!

Program Benefits

Free Teacher Training

Our partners and fellow educators will walk you through the process of teaching and instruction, from managing a classroom to planning lessons. Our 3-week certification program ensures you are prepared for your time in the virtual classroom.

Coaching and Mentoring

In addition to group training sessions, each fellow is assigned a seasoned and experienced educator to guide them during the 4-6 month program. Monthly meetings with your mentor is a highlight of the program, and your mentor is always a dm away in our learning space.

Monthly Stipend*

Some fellows will be selected for a stipend for the duration of the program. These stipends range from $10.50 per hour to $150 per month for up to 6 months!

*stipends are determined at the discretion of fellowship admin.

Virtual and Remote

The entire fellowship is virtual and based in a remote-first work setting. Our goal is to allow this program to adapt to your needs and schedule, while providing life-changing education to students across the country.

Only 2 hrs Per Week Required

Only two hours minimum per week will be required of fellows. For the first three weeks, however, as many as 4 hours minimum will be required due to training requirements.
